Myrtle Beach has a multitude of restaurants for every taste and cuisine. Some stay open year-round, while some are only open during the warmer tourist season. If you've visited more than once you probably have some favorites. Here are just a few of ours.
If you're staying at our Beach Colony Resort condo, then you don't have to travel far or leave the view of the ocean to enjoy one of Myrtle Beach's finest seafood restaurants.
The Sea Captain's House at 30th St on Ocean Blvd N. serves great seafood as well as some delicious turf entrees and deserts. Well established since 1962 (and with some interesting history), it has won more awards in Myrtle Beach than any other restaurant. Enjoy fine dining with a casual atmosphere located right on the beach with beautiful ocean views. If you enjoy surf and turf and are feeling hungry, splurge on the Filet Mignon Neptune entree which includes an 8oz. filet with broiled shrimp, lump crab meat and a bernaise sauce. Breakfast and lunch are also served.
If you're taking a drive to Murrells Inlet or Surfside, the Conche Cafe in Garden City is on the way. Again located right on the beach with great ocean views, this very casual restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The covered outdoor deck seating is open so you'll catch the breezes while dining, and take a stroll after eating. Their steak and seafood menu offers a good variety of choices and their "Lite Fare" menu some great seafood salad combinations. You could feast just on their appetizers if you wanted, but if you're a crab soup fan, don't miss their homemade "She Crab Soup". Some say its the best around. They're not open in the cooler seasons so you may want to check their website or call them.
The Marsh walk at Murrells Inlet is a great place to spend the day. There are at least 10 places to eat there and most have some sort of live music entertainment. Since Murrells Inlet is a small fishing village, you'd expect fresh seafood and that's what you'll get. With its low country southern style, you'll see plenty of hush puppies served with the meals, and always a very casual atmosphere. One of the more popular restaurants there is the Dead Dog Saloon. With live entertainment almost every night of the week, usually after 6pm, you'll enjoy good food, drinks and fun.
The list could go on and on but hopefully you'll discover some of your own favorites.
